Alternatively, Cherokee County Detention Centre has an App that allows all the county residents receive inmate information directly on their mobile phones. You can get the App free from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Still, if none of the above works for you, you can visit the prison’s office and request assistance.  

Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office

About Cherokee County Jail and Other Prisons in the County  

Cherokee County Adult Detention Facility is the largest prison in the county, occupying five sections of land in the Metropolitan region of Canton. It has a 512-bed capacity to house both sentenced and pre-sentenced inmates as they await their trial and sentencing. The facility’s primary function is to receive, process, and house individuals charged with minor criminal offenses.  

Moreover, it also houses convicts who cannot afford their bond until they appear in court. However, the facility has a secondary role of housing already sentenced criminals. Misdemeanor inmates stay in this jail until they finish their sentence. On the contrary, those with more than a year of jail term remain here until they get a transfer to state prisons.  

Inmate Visitation Requirements  

The Cherokee County Adult Detention Centre administration allows two-45 minute onsite video visits to the inmates per week. However, you must schedule your visit beforehand, Tuesday through Sunday, between 8.15 am and 4 pm. Please check with the sheriff’s office for inmate visitation rules.
