About Nash County Jail
The Nash County Detention Center is a medium security facility located at 222 West Washington Street, Nashville, NC, 27856. The facility accommodates up to 259 male and 36 female inmates. Nash County facility follows various County, State, and federal rules to keep order and offer safety and security for the inmates and the citizens of the County. The facility was established in 1929 and is arranged on nine sections of land in Nashville metropolitan area.
Nash County detention facility has a monthly booking of approximately 371 and is supervised by 57 staff members who ensure that all operations run smoothly and effectively. Notwithstanding its high population, the facility provides reintegration programming to male convicted inmates.
Annually, the jail uses about 147 inmates in its office work lines to assist the administration in its kitchen, clothing, and other activities.
About Nash Correctional Institution
Nash Correctional Institution is a medium security facility accommodating adult male inmates. The housing in the facility is in single cells and dayroom beds. The inmates work in two correctional enterprises’ industrial plants. In addition, the inmates work in an optical plant that manufactures eyeglasses for inmates and Medicaid patients.
The facility comprises 15 buildings, including medical facilities, vocational and recreational buildings, a gatehouse and dining room, a chapel, 20 cell section units, and 128 cell housing units.
The Nash County correctional institution was renamed in 1970 and named Nash Advancement Center, and after that renamed Nash Correctional Center in 1988. The Nash Correctional Center became part of the newly built Nash Correctional Institution in 1992.

The Civil Division
