Key in the inmate’s number, name, gender, race, date of birth, and age range to run the search. You can use one criterion, and although this will give multiple results, you must navigate to find the specific inmate. The search results on the locator include the inmate’s name, race, gender, physical description, charges, sentence, and possible release date.

About Lincoln County Jail and Other Prisons/Jails Located in The County 

Lincoln County has two jail/prison facilities, the Lincoln County Detention Center and the Lincoln Correctional Center. 

Lincoln County Detention Center 

Lincoln county detention center at 700 John Howell memorial drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092, was built in 1979 and is arranged in eight sections of land with a 168-bed capacity. It houses both pre-trial detainees and inmates serving short sentences. The sheriff’s detention division is responsible for all operations within the detention facility. Lincoln detention center has monthly average bookings of 104. Inmates can access rehabilitation programs such as substance abuse treatment, mental health, and religious services. Inmates are allowed two video visits each week. The visits last for 45 minutes and must be scheduled in advance between Tuesday and Sunday, 8:15 am to 4:00 pm. Visitors and inmates must adhere to the visitation guidelines or risk losing their visitation privileges. The facility also provides phone and mail privileges under strict guidelines. Phone calls are monitored, and mail is inspected for contraband before it gets to the inmate. 

Lincoln Correctional Center 

Lincoln Correctional Center is a male-only minimum-security state prison at 464 Roper Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092. The North Carolina department of public safety (NCDPS) operates the facility. The prison was originally built in 1939 as one of the 61 field unit prisons built to house inmates who worked building roads. In 1985, the General Assembly included a dormitory in the $10 million South Piedmont Consent Decree development scheme. Work was finished in 1987, and the structure was converted to a medium-security prison for adult males in June of that year. Lincoln correctional center encourages family and friends to send mail and call their loved ones in the facility to foster a good rehabilitation environment. all mail is inspected for contraband, and phone conversations are limited to a certain number of persons. 

About Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office 

Lincoln County sheriff’s office is the primary law enforcement body in the unincorporated areas of Lincoln County. The sheriff’s office also cooperates with the Lincolnton Police Department to provide law enforcement services for the incorporated city of Lincolnton. The sheriff’s office has 119 full-time officers, 13 part-time officers, 14 full-time civilians, and three part-time civilians with no arrest powers. Divisions within the sheriff’s office include civil, detention, patrol, and criminal investigation. The civil division is in charge of all civil processes, which include serving summons, warrants, income, and execution. The criminal investigation division investigates major crimes such as murder, assault, burglary, and theft. The patrol division handles all public calls for service, including assistance calls, traffic code enforcement, and accident investigation. Lastly, the detention division houses inmates arrested within the county.
