About Iredell County Jail 

Iredell County Detention Center is a minimum-security facility located at 221 East Water Street, Statesville, NC, 28687. The 279-bed capacity jail has been operating since 1982 and boosts approximately 1775 bookings yearly, while the facility has monthly bookings of about 150. The Iredell County detention center accommodates inmates from all over Iredell County under the management of the North Carolina Sheriff. In addition, the facility is managed and maintained by the North Carolina Department of Corrections. In addition, the facility has approximately 104 employees who supervise the facility by making sure all operations run smoothly. 

Annually, the Iredell County detention center uses about 139 inmates in its in-office work lines to help administrations with its clothing and kitchen, among other duties. Notwithstanding its jail capacities, the facility provides reintegration programming to male convicted offenders. 

About Statesville City Jail 

Statesville is a facility located at 330 South Tradd Street, Statesville, NC, 28677. The facility has total bookings of about 503 inmates consistently. The Statesville facility provided a unique problem instead of being sentenced to the Iredell County jail. The Pay-to-Stay program is offered for qualified inmates sentenced to serve time in jail but who want to serve it outside of Iredell County jail. Due to the high population at Iredell County jail, if n offender is approved for the above program, it is usually preferred that the offender stays at Statesville City jail. The offenders may opt to spread out their jail term and serve a day or two at a time while going back home for family or work activities before serving another day on their sentence. 

Iredell County Sheriff’s Office 

Iredell County Sheriff’s Office is a department responsible for protecting the lives and property in the county and respecting the citizen’s rights according to the constitution. The Iredell County sheriff’s office consists of the following divisions; 

Criminal Investigation Division 

The criminal investigations division consists of different specialized units. Since the detectives investigate various crimes, each unit concentrates on a specific type of crime. Some of the crimes investigated by the division include larceny, identity theft, damage to property, homicides, sexual assault offenses, and murder. 

Civil Process Division 

The Iredell County sheriff’s office is in charge of the service of all civil process papers within Iredell County. Such processes include civil summons, juvenile summons, civil orders for arrests, tax warrants, writs for possessions, executions, and no contact orders. The division consists of ten deputies in charge of the process service. 

Patrol Division 

The patrol division is divided into four teams that patrol the 595 square miles of the county. The division is in charge of enforcing traffic laws and serving various civil and criminal documents.
